Something that's always confused me...

This morning I had to go to Walmart for work. Yes, I say "had to" as though I was forced because our Walmart is a treacherous place. There are always approximately a half million people there, aggressively lunging their carts across aisles, as if the 2-for-1 shampoo was about to run out and they fear they might have to go through the rest of life with unwashed hair. It makes me fear that I may not make it through the rest of life in the store, hair clean or not. Whenever I go I marvel at the fact that you could probably never leave Walmart and still have all the basic comforts of life...except for solitude and sunshine. They have a clinic, a hair salon, an eye doctor, McDonalds, a bank, a Redbox DVD rental thing, and a car mechanic...to name a few. Plus all the millions of things that you could ever need or not need all at always low prices. Here in Westminster, we call our Walmart, "Mexico." (No offense to anyone from Mexico or to the country itself. That's just what we call it. In fact, my friend from Mexico calls it "My country.") Once, my friend Britt told me that her sister had gotten in a car accident in Mexico. I was confused for a second, but then realized that it meant she had gotten rear-ended in the Walmart parking lot. Anyway...

The parking lot...this brings me to the whole point of what I was posting about. Today when I left I saw some seagulls hanging out in the parking lot. This is a pretty common sight, but it always makes me confused. Why the heck are seagulls in the parking lot? For that matter, why the heck are seagulls in Colorado? Last time I checked, we have no sea. Perhaps these birds got lost. Perhaps they like the snow. Perhaps these birds are allergic to fish and so therefore prefer abandoned Wendy's fries. Or maybe they think there's less competition in the Walmart parking lot than there is on the beach. I'm not sure about their reasoning, nor am I sure that seagulls are mentally capable of reasoning anyhow. But it is something that will forever bewilder me... If you were a seagull, would you hang out in the Walmart parking lot???

all I know is the seagull in the picture looks angry or like it is about to give a very stern lecture!

Yeah...I liked it. That seagull in the picture might be the only one I've ever liked.

You should ask your boy all those questions. After all, his first job was being a cartboy at Wally World.

HAHAHA...I somehow missed out on this wonderful story. I guess I can understand why he wasn't super eager to tell it. I'm asking him about it right now and he seems defensive, saying that he quit after a day. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece of information...I shall so enjoy talking about and reminding about it! Any other embarrassing jobs?
