Ok, token New Years post. Here are...
Some goals for 2008:
-Working out...hopefully minimum of 3 times a week. Hopefully more like 5. We did yesterday--which was our first day to start, so we're doing well so far. Of course, as I well know from past experience, one day doesn't mean much. It's all those other days after that matter! I'm not sore from yesterday either, so I think that means I didn't work hard enough. My personal goal is just to get toned up and get some muscle. People tell me that I'm thin so it doesn't matter, but the truth is, (and my dear mother, who shares my body type reminds me) there is definitely such a thing as skinny flab! I'm in a wedding in April so I'm hoping to have some nice arms for my strapless dress!
-Eating healthier. Ty is actually doing the Fat Smash diet right now. I'm just hoping to eat better. I tend to get busy during the week and skip lunch or just eat something random, so my goal is to pack healthy lunches--and eat them, not leave them in the fridge to rot!
-To guard our schedule. Life is busy and there's alot of things we are committed to. Tyler is the sole worship leader for a short season at church, so that is a pretty big time commitment. Plus work, caregroup, family, friends, etc. We want to make sure we get our date nights every week and have time to spend together growing as a couple, especially as this is our first year of marriage. Oh. Side note. My boy got a new guitar. It is pretty too---a Gibson Hummingbird. MB calls it his "birds and bees guitar" because of the design on it.
-More time with the Lord. I tend to get so distracted so easily by busy little things that are really of no eternal consequence. I know caring for my husband and my home are important, but I also know that I need to make my time with God my first priority. Sleep is a major issue for me. I like it alot---even if I've had enough when my alarm goes off, my body and brain tell me "still tired!" But I know I just need to train myself to get up---when I was first married I did and I was amazed at how much I could do in the morning! (But the novelty wore off!;-) So, I'm going to work toward rising earlier and therefore giving myself more time to spend with the Lord.
Some things I'm looking forward to this year:
-Jord and El's wedding and the craziness that will surround it
-Our church's 10-year anniversary this spring. This fall will mark 10 years of my family going to GCC--and 10 wonderful years of being friends with so many important people in my life--including my husband! (Well, we weren't technically friends when I was 11, but you know...)
-Camping. Tyler has declared this the year of camping. We are planning to try to get lots of weekends up enjoying the mountains. Some by ourselves, some with friends. It's a great, cheap little vacation!
-Warm weather. It's cold here. I'm a sun-lover. Plus, I can always use a tan.
-My 21st birthday. I shall say no more... ;-)
-Our one year wedding anniversary. And our two year anniversary of being together--Ty says that one doesn't count anymore, but I like to celebrate anything I can!
-Just spending another year with all the people I love!

Okay, I envy your apt. living. Working out at a free gym, not having to clean up messes like toliets overflowing, no lawns to mow etc. What do you plan on doing on your 21st b-day ;)? Would you mind telling me how the "Fat Smash Diet" is going for Tyler. I just got the book and started reading it!
