Today one of my best friends, Hattie, is going to Romania for several months. In honor of her departure, I have made a list.
15 Things I Love about Hadiford:
1. Beginning with the obvious, she has red hair. As I have stated previously, I have always loved red hair. Having a best friend with red hair has helped me feel at peace about my lack of red hair. If Hattie went to highschool where they voted in the yearbook all those "best..." things, she would win best hair. In fact, I unofficially awarded her "best hair" at my wedding. (As you can see in the picture...it's a sideways ponytail with flowers.)
2. Also, she is beautiful. Need I say more?
3. She is a really great friend. She really cares about her friends and loves to serve them. When she loves someone she will stick by them and support them, yet she is never afraid to bring correction and encourage them to grow.
4. She is allergic to peanut butter. And she puts up with us trying to feed her peanut butter things all the time. (Don't worry, she isn't deathly allergic, we aren't evil people who want to kill her. We just want to see her, um, swell a little bit.) In this photo, Meg is telling Had that the cookie in fact isn't peanut butter, but chocolate chip...even though the package said peanut butter.
5. She loves to eat. Alot. When we go out to dinner she finishes her food and then eats everyone else's. Because of this, we call her "Hoss" and hum the Bonanza theme song to her. I love people who eat because I love food too!
6. She has trouble talking sometimes. When she gets excited or mad, she gets tripped up on her words and can't get them out. This is something else we like to mock. She also makes up words, like "angersome" and "kerpussion" and uses them as if they were real, sometimes not realizing that they aren't.
7. She sings hilarious karaoke. Complete with dances.
8. Speaking of hilarious, she is really funny. Sometimes without trying to be, but she knows how to laugh at herself. She makes fun of herself all the time and thinks jokes other people make to tease her are funny too. This is not only hilarious, but also shows that she is humble!
9. She makes the best faces.
10. She is a godly friend. Like I said before, she is humble. She is always willing to admit when she is wrong and seeks to grow and change. She's also very honest. I never wonder how she's feeling about something. She tells me what she's thinking and when she's upset. And she is very forgiving. I think these qualities really help our friendship grow.
11. She and I have trouble taking cute pictures together. (This picture from my wedding is pretty much the only cute one we have.) For some reason they never turn out. So, we just try to look stupid, and then at least that's the way we meant it to be.
12. She tells people they're "special"
13. She actually laughs when people call her "Pattie" or even, "Fattie."
14. She is very passionate for God and seeks his will for her life. (That's one reason why she is going to Romania!) Her example of trusting and following God encourages me to do the same.
15. She is just Hattie. If you don't know her, it's hard to describe her, but everything about her is so completely, wonderfully Hattie-ish. And I'm going to miss it that while she is gone.
Ferd, I'm going to miss you so much! Just sitting and thinking of all the things I love about you makes me realize it even more. And it made me realize how lucky I am to have you as a friend. We've had our ups and downs over the years, but I am so grateful that we have been able to learn and grow together. Seriously, everyone should wish they had a friend like you. In your own sorts of words, "you're freakin' awesome!" Have an amazing time and come home soon!
*All the pictures where people look good are taken by Hattie's amazing sister, Emily.

i love how hattie adds "every day of my life" to every sentence. whether it's sincere like "i miss you every day of my life" or sarcastic like "i love CO except when it snows every day of my life!" haha, she's amazing. sweet of you to do this for her...sniffles :)
Very sweet. And um, what are you guys doing in the picture where you're wearing a red dress?
It was Callie's wedding. We were in the parking garage, pretending to be lost immigrants, I believe.
Mindy..you don't know how much this means to me..really. You are an amazing person and I'm so lucky to call you friend. One thing I just realized about you is that you are the most encouraging friend and so honest and so not negative. I hope I can be like you some day. I'm am missing you already. I LOVE YOU!
