On Saturday there was a personal shower for Elmarie. One of the best things about it was that El's sister Glenys and her friend Lizelle got in from South Africa on Friday to be here for it, so we got to hang out with them--and they're so much fun! Glenys had planned some "surprises" for Elmarie. The first was that she took her upstairs and made her dress up like a tribal woman--or, to go with her nickname "a south african princess". It was the most awesome, funny costume I've ever seen. Here's a picture of part of it. The rest of it, being tribal, was rather um, well...you've seen the discovery channel. Basically it was just some animal skins where necessary and alot of beads and paint. So for El's sake, I'm just showing her head! ;-)
The second surprise Glenys had planned was a game where we had made a list of questions and gotten Jordan's answers to them. Then we asked them to El and any that they didn't agree on she had to pay the penalty. Which was having her face smeared with chocolate and getting an M&M out of a bowl of flour. Yes, that was really funny too. Poor El---she's such a good sport.
We also just had a great time hanging out and eating and laughing. This shower made me all the more excited for the wedding and to spend days and days hanging out with all the girls!
