Update on life...

So, we're home and getting back to normal life after a month of holidays and vacation. In the midst of all the fun and craziness, we've made a few small changes in life.

First of all, my job has been cut back. The current economy is affecting the members of our church and in turn, affecting the church budget. So we've had to cut back. One of those cuts is reducing my hours. Now I'm working shorter days and have Wednesday off in addition to Monday. I actually see it as a good thing. God has really given me the grace to see our blessings in this change in my job. Tyler's business has thus far been unaffected by the economy and so we can afford for me to work less.  This change will allow me to learn to spend more time at home and learn to be more productive with my days off. I'm excited to see the opportunities God will bring to fill my time. And this also helps us financially prepare for when I someday stay at home full time. (We don't "live" on my income, but it is nice for random extras, but now we're getting used to having less of that.) So, anyhow, it's all good.

Also, as of now, we are beginning to try to eat gluten-free. We'll see if it's a permanent change once Tyler is tested for gluten sensitivity/allergy/etc. But for now, I think it's going to be good for our diet. And hopefully for our health. We aren't really being super-strict or anything. When I prepare food, I'm avoiding making anything with gluten. But when we go out or to people's houses, we aren't really worrying about it at this point. I must admit, I found the thought of learning to cook a new way very intimidating, but so far, it's going ok.

And finally, yesterday I booked a ticket to Dallas! I get to meet Annie! I leave a week from Friday and stay till the following Wednesday. (The benefits of reduced work hours already!) Ty, sadly, isn't going. Between work and worship, he really can't get any time away. So, that's kind of a bummer. But I know it'll be a blast getting lots of girl time with the seesters and nieces and Mom and hanging with the whole fam. Can't wait to see you all!

Well, I think that's about it...

Looking forward to seeing you, Mindy. Why are you guys going gluten-free? We'll have to chat all about it. Talk to you soon!

Yeah, we'll talk more then. Basically though, this is kind of trying an elimination thing...I've been suspicious that it doesn't agree well with Ty for quite awhile and so until he agrees to take the test, we're just going to see if it helps!
