Last Thursday, Jack turned 7 months old and I took a few pictures of him playing, just to remember where he was at right then. I meant to post them the same day, but now that I have a crawling, climbing kid...well...things are much busier!
Yes, he crawls. And pulls up on things. And climbs over anything he can find, including the cat.
He is into exploring everything. Taking after his daddy, he has to examine all the details. Taking after me, he chatters away all day long.
He says "hi" and seems to know which context it is said in, so I'm pretty sure he knows what it means. (It is accompanied by lots of waving. He loves to wave. As I carried him out of the sermon for being noisy yesterday, he waved bye-bye the whole way out.)
He says "dadadada" as kind of his all-purpose babbling noise. And when he's really whiny or hurts himself he sometimes wails "mamama". And of course makes lots of other random noises too and loves to squeal and shout and whisper to himself. (Yes, he scratched his nose. Poor kid scratches himself and bonks his head on everything.)
Every stage has been fun so far, but I think this one is the most fun yet. He is discovering the world. Everything is full of excitement and wonder and it is amazing to see things through his little eyes. Just a simple walk to the mailbox is exciting to him. I love it!
Here's a shot of those sharp little teeth. (Very sharp. He bit me and I was informed later by my doctor that I should have gotten stitches. Oops.) I love his little toothy smile.
This shot of the sock monkey reminds me of a Violet quote from Thanksgiving. She was playing with Jack's monkey and said "Oh why does he have two mouths? One on his head and one on, well, you know where!"
