I haven't written about my pregnancy since I announced it on here. Mostly due to the fact that it has flown by so far. I had the seemingly never-ending morning sickness phase at the beginning---made worse by getting the stomach flu during it---but once that ended, things have seemed to move so fast. Until recently, I often kind of forgot I was pregnant. Probably due to a distraction named Jack!
I'm feeling lots of little baby kicks lately. Ty has gotten to feel some a few times too. The second half of this is so much more fun---all the movement, feeling like you get a little peek at who this baby is going to be, finding out the gender. (and therefore, rather literally who this baby will be!)
Speaking of which, we had the ultrasound on Friday and it was very quickly plainly obvious that it is a boy! A boy who looked a lot like Jack did in his ultrasound. So either they look alike, or all babies just look like that via ultrasound. We shall see. I'm so excited to watch my boys be buddies! I'm so glad they will get to have a brother so close in age. And for some reason I've always had a feeling I'd have a small flock of boys. It'll be fun! (Pardon the iphone ultrasound pics, I haven't scanned them yet!)
About my due date. It was never super certain due to the fact that I was still nursing and such when I got pregnant and today he measured at around 19 weeks, 5 days. My midwife is still figuring out whether we should push back my due date or not, but I have decided to mentally push it back now, just in case. If he shows up earlier, great. But I got so restless prior to Jack's that I know I will do better holding it all very loosely. The baby will come when he comes! So it could be around October 28th. Or it could be, if the ultrasound is correct, around November 7th. Somewhere at the end of October or early November. We'll be keeping a close eye on his growth too.
It really has been a blessedly easy pregnancy so far, morning sickness aside. I'm tired during the day, but not exhausted. I haven't been anemic yet---which is a major miracle considering I am sometimes when I'm not pregnant. The back pain I had last isn't significant so far. And that's even with carrying around a nearly 25lb child all the time! We didn't have any platelet count drama that made us wonder if I had a horrible disease since we got all that straightened out last time. God has been kind to me and I'm so thankful to be able to enjoy these last few months with just Jack.
I really want to try to blog more. I write posts in my head while washing dishes and folding laundry all the time. I have written several on my phone but for some reason it hasn't been allowing me to post them. So, I need to be more purposeful at taking the time to sit down at the computer. I see the days flying by and Jack growing and changing by the second and this is a place to try to grab hold of some of those little moments and remember them for the future when he is not so little anymore! Hopefully I'll do better!
