Friday Favorites: Jeans

Ok, I'm sure jeans are everyone's favorite. How would we live without them? Are they not the best clothing item ever invented? (Ok, bras are pretty revolutionary too...) Yet for being so wonderful, they are so difficult to find. I'm sure we've all carried armloads into dressing rooms only to leave empty-handed. So when you find a pair that you love, it's amazing!

With my Christmas money, I bought 2 pairs of new jeans. Actually 3 pairs. (Two were part of a BOGO deal, so I really only bought two.) In 2 different styles I had not owned before and I love them both. Both are slightly controversial-ish.

First, I went the next step up from skinny jeans to jeggings, or the term mine was labeled, denim leggings. To defend myself, I hate the name jeggings and mine are pretty much just skinny jeans. They have pockets and a zipper and all that normal stuff. AND they are super duper comfortable because they have extra stretchiness in them.

(Bullhead denim leggings from PacSun)

See. They look normal. They're just extra comfy and don't have real front pockets (which doesn't bother me since I don't really use those) and the reason I love them the most is they fit my sad lack of a rear end and my flamingo legs, which is a rare combination for pants. I feel like Audrey Hepburn when I wear them. (emphasis on feel.)

The other kind I got was boyfriend jeans. I had been wanting some for quite awhile because they looked comfortable. (Clinton and Stacy would not approve of my reasoning, but I doubt they have an 8 month old.) I tried the true-to-name route first, which was finding jeans from an actual boy. My brothers didn't appreciate me trying on all their jeans though and they are both quite a bit taller than me and I also don't prefer to wear my jeans sagged below my boxers. (no, I don't wear boxers!) So I went to Target and got these:

Only these aren't them cause I couldn't find a picture. Mine don't have holes. And are cuter. And are the Converse brand. But this is the general idea. They are so so so comfortable and cute with ballet flats or heels. My sister tells me that I look a bit like Casey from the back, mainly in the butt, but I'm ok with that. Since he has large manly muscles and short blond hair, I doubt anyone will confuse the two of us. And Casey doesn't wear ballet flats or heels. Normally.

Now I just have to pray they both don't change their styles and fit before I need another pair!
